1.Tom: Hi,Jack. Long time no see.How's everything going?
Jack: Well,not so good.
Tom: Oh. What happened?
Jack: A friend of mine borrowed some money from me but it seemed that he completely forgot about that. You know, I've planned to take a trip to Alaska with my sister this weekend, and I need the money now.
Tom: Well, you don't really have to bother yourself with such a slight matter.
Jack: I'm just wondering how to open my mouth. Can you offer me some advice, Tom?
Tom: Of course. Asking people to return the money they have borrowed always cause embarrassment. This is unavoidable.But to be as polite as possible, you'd better talk in an indirect way.
Jack: An indirect way? Could you please be more specific?
Tom: Well, you may tell him that you are in need of money first, and then remind him that he have borrowed some money from you. Usually, most people would recall by themselves.
Jack: Oh, thank you for your suggestions. I can't wait to have my vocation now.
