The Lexile® Framework for Reading,不行的话就百度也能出来
分级的单位是Lexile(一般简写为L),这个单位怎么来的呢?
Charlotte's Web(680L)
1. When your stomach is empty and your mind is full, it's always hard to sleep.
2. The quickest way to spoil a friendship is to wake somebody up in the morning before he is ready.
3. Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen.
The Little Prince(710L)
If you were to say to the grown-ups: I saw a beautiful house made of rosy brick, with geraniums in the windows and doves on the roof, they would not be able to get any idea of that house at all. You would have to say to them: I saw a house that cost $20,000. Then they would exclaim: Oh, what a pretty house that is!
The Book Thief(730L)
Before they went into their respective homes, Rudy stopped a moment and said, Goodbye, Saumensch. He laughed.
Goodnight, book thief. It was the first time Liesel had been branded with her title, and she couldn't hide the fact that she liked it very mcuh. As we're both aware, she'd stolen books previously, but in late October 1941, it became official. That night, Liesel Meminger truly became the book thief.
这个人被称为the receiver of memory,也就是the Giver。
Jonas felt a ripping sensation inside himself, the feeling of terrible pain clawing its way forward to emerge in a cry.
Memories are not just about the past, they determine our future. I had learned that knowing of what something is, is not the same as knowing how something feel. I got lost ... to good kind of lost. Have faith, the Giver told me. Faith, that was seeing beyond. He compared it to the wind: something felt but not seen.
Wonder(790L)
I know I’m not an ordinary ten-year-old kid. I mean, sure, I do ordinary things. I eat ice cream. I ride my bike. I play ball. I have an XBox. Stuff like that makes me ordinary. I guess. And I feel ordinary. Inside. But I know ordinary kids don’t make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. I know ordinary kids don’t get stared at wherever they go.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(810L)
The thing to remember,' Grandma Georgina said, 'is that whatever happens, you'll still have the bar of chocolate.' But there was one other thing that the grown-ups also knew, and it was this: that however small the chance might be of striking lucky, the chance is there. The chance had to be there.
Mr. Wonka: Don’t forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he wanted.
Charlie Bucket: What happened?
Mr. Wonka: He lived happily ever after.”
A Thousand Splendid Suns(830L)
How little those things matter to me now after all the loss all the terrible things i have seen in the cursed war.
In a few years, this little girl will be a woman who will make small demands on life, who will never burden others, who will never let on that she too has had sorrows, disappointments, dreams that have been ridiculed.
A woman who will be like a rock in a riverbed, enduring without complaint, her grace not sullied but shaped by the turbulence that washes over her.
The Kite Runner(840L)
For you,a thousand times over.
For me, Canada is a place to pursue my dreams. However, it is also the place where I realized my parents have aged.
Although it seemed to have little to do with the book, I still felt outraged to see such a man who was successful and prestigous back home became a worker at the gas station.
For Amir and his Baba, they had no choice because they had to escape from the war. However, I do not understand how can the thousands of immigrants give up their families, friends, memories and successes to a foreign place where there are no families and friends.
They have to start from nothing and they can never be successful again. Most of them cannot find a job. If they did, it would be a waiter or waitress at a restuarant, or a worker in a small company paid with minimal wage. Their intelligience is buried in their homeland, which no one in a foreign country would value.
The House on Mango Street(870L)
Someday I will have a best friend all my own. One I can tell my secrets to. One who will understand my jokes without my having to explain them.
Until then I am a red balloon, a balloon tied to an anchor.
One day we were passing a house that looked, in my mind, like houses I had seen in Mexico.
I don't know why. There was nothing about the house that looked exactly like the houses I remembered.
I'm not even sure why I thought it, but it seemed to feel right.
To have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever.
After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.
Peter Pan(920L)
Every child is affected thus the first time he istreated unfairly…
After you have been unfair to him he will love you again, but he will never afterwards be quite the same boy.
No one ever gets over the first unfairness; no one except Peter.
He often met it, but he always forgot it.
I suppose that was the real difference between him and all the rest.
