I want to talk about The Great Wall. It was built in Qin dynasty after the first emperor of china-Yinzheng united the whole country. The Great Wall is as long as hundreds of miles and it spans through several provinces in northern part of china.

It took nearly ten years to build it with hundreds of thousands of farmers working there day after night. Though it might be one of the greatest projects at that time, a lot of people died during the project. The main function of the great wall is to resist those invasion army from foreign countries. Because it was built on the top of mountains and large numbers of soldiers resided there, enemies can be easily found from the top of the wall. Ironically, the qin dynasty was ruined by the its own national people instead of other invasion army.

The great wall you see today in Beijing has been overhauled several times and it has been rebuilt in Ming dynasty. I think it’s a miracle for people lived in ancient times has successfully completed that project.
