Weather daath penalty should be applied has been discussed heatedly with diverse opinions held by different people. In this essay, both advantages and disadvantages will be discussed.

Death penalty has been considered as the most efficient way to maintain social security. With the application of death penalty, some severe criminal activities which range from murdering to financial fraud can be decreased significantly as such heavy punishment has maximized the effect of detering crimes. For instance, some laws breakers who are driven by the enormous illegal profits may irrationaly engage some criminal activities and cause serious consequential problems for the society. In this occassion, only the threaten which denude their lives can prevent them from participating these activities.

Nevertheless, in terms of the humanity, death penalty has been challenged by others. They believe no matter how serious the criminals have done, they still be given chances to change themselves. And everyone owns the rights to live in this world. To kill a person because of the criminal activities he or she has done before is regarded as the sign of unhumanity and immature of society. Besides, instead of death penalty, some other alternatives such as sentences in prisions. And these alternatives not only effectively maintain the social security but also are in line with the humanity showing great respect to the lives of all citizens of the world.

In my view, although the rights of living should be protected, the death panulty cannot be abolished because it is using the extreme method to stop inocent lives from being killed, to maintain the stability of the society and to protect legal rights of all people.
