如果孩子的听力已经很好了，就开始进行口语练习吧！孩子不像大人那样害怕张嘴说，但也需要经过一个锻炼过程。唱英文儿歌、跟读英语录音、大声朗读英文童话书……这些方法可以让孩子逐渐熟悉符合自己水平的单词和语法，同时还能培养说英语的白信，效果很不错。练习到一定程度后，就可以每天用20—30分钟的时间进行英语对话练习。此时，选择孩子喜欢的主题和有趣的实用素材是非常重要的一环。另外，让水平相近的孩子一起表演英语短剧也是不错的方法，孩子们可以自然地学习运用那些还不是很熟悉的表达方式，通过与其他孩子的相互激励提高学习效率。对于性格内向，或者排斥英语的孩子，可以采用“头脑问答”(Brain Quest)的形式学习，选择和日常生活或童话书有联系的内容，像做游戏那样与孩子进行问答练习，这种方法效果也比较好。最重要的一点是，无论做哪种练习，都要尽可能地使用完整的句子。“Teacher教的”（老师教的），像这样用英语单词来替换某个词的说法，对于提高英语能力没什么帮助。英语和母语掺杂着说或许能扩大孩子的词汇量，却不能提高孩子造句的能力。因此，即使感到困难，也要让孩子说完整的句子。
